Dr. Scott Hebert (pronounced A-Bear) graduated from the University of Texas Dental School San Antonio in 1984 and completed an additional two years of specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 1988. He has been practicing pediatric dentistry on the Southside of San Antonio since 1988. Dr. Hebert is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. This means that he successfully completed a series of tests and case reviews that demonstrated his high level of competency as a pediatric dentist. Dr. Hebert has extensive experience in restorative dentistry, sedation and hospital dentistry. He has treated thousands of children from San Antonio and South Texas. Dr. Hebert considers it a great privilege to treat children. He recognizes how important it is for young patients to have positive dental experiences while growing up. It is his personal goal to help your child have a healthy smile and to teach him or her good dental habits that will last a lifetime.
Dr. Yusif Mohammad — Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Yusif Mohammad is a pediatric dentist who was born and raised in San Antonio. He graduated from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry in 2012. After spending time working as a general dentist, Dr. Mohammad returned to the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio to complete an additional two years of specialized training in pediatric dentistry with a strong focus on sedation dentistry and treating special needs patients.
Dr. Mohammad has a caring, fun and positive attitude. He is known best for singing the SpongeBob theme song to young children during dental treatment. When Dr. Mohammad is not having fun treating children in the clinic, he loves spending time with his beautiful wife and three bouncing boys.
Dr. Patricia E. Lopez — Board Certified Oral Surgeon
Dr. Patricia Lopez is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and a novel member of the Southside Children’s Dental Center. Dr. Lopez was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where she achieved her Dental Degree with honors at the Central University of Venezuela in 1996. She then accomplished a two-year internship at the Santa Rosa Maxillofacial Surgery Center in Caracas. In 1999, Dr. Lopez moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to complete her Post-doctoral Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus.
After graduation, she returned to Venezuela in 2003 and worked in private practice at the Santa Rosa Maxillofacial Surgery Center for eight years. Beginning in 2004. she served as a Consultant Professor in the OMS Department at the Central University of Venezuela, and served as a Board Member of the Venezuelan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for four years.
In 2011, Dr. Lopez relocated to San Antonio, Texas- and became a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas, Health Science Center, San Antonio until December 2014. She is dedicated to the private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and maintains an academic affiliation as an Adjunct Professor at UTHSCSA one day a week.
Dubravko Pavlin, DMD, MSD, PhD
Dr. Pavlin Obtained the Orthodontic Specialty Certificate and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Connecticut, and a D.M.D. and M.S. in Dentistry degrees from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Dr. Pavlin is a Board Certified orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He continues to work part time as a Professor of Orthodontics at the UTHSCSA School of Dentistry, also as a clinical consultant for OrthoAccel Technologies, Inc., Bellaire, TX, and an expert consultant in clinical orthodontics and related fields, Premier Orthodontics Consulting, San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Pavlin has worked as a full time and part time orthodontic faculty for the last 24 years involved in teaching clinical orthodontics and numerous didactic courses to orthodontic residents and dental students, as well as treating orthodontic patients in faculty practice. Director of the Orthodontic Residency Program at the School of Dentistry in San Antonio from 2006 through 2014.
His areas of clinical expertise include orthodontic biomechanics and treatment planning, accelerated orthodontic tooth movement, evidenced based treatment, and biological response of alveolar bone to mechanical loading.
Dr. Pavlin and his wife Sanja, enjoy their growing family of three married daughters and five little granddaughters. They also enjoy working out in a gym, playing tennis and dancing. Through their church, Wayside Chapel, they are involved in humanitarian and missionary work locally and internationally.
